About North Gauteng Science Fair
North Gauteng Science Fair was founded in 1981 and has since grown to one of the most well attended and popular regional science fairs in the country.
Learners from schools all across the greater Tshwane region participate yearly on this provincial level platform, showcasing their love and passion for science, technology and innovation. Each year, several of our participants are chosen to take part at SAYESS, the South African National science fair. From there, we are proud to say that North Gauteng is represented by several learners each year at various international science events.
Our annual event is split into two age groups. The Junior Science Fair is for learners from grades 1 - 6 and normally takes place in early August. The Senior Science Fair for learners from grades 7 - 12 takes place over two days in September. The dates and venues are confirmed annually.

A proper science expo project is not just a model or demonstration. It must involve: a testable research question, a hypothesis, an experiment or investigation, data collection and analysis, a conclusion, presentation of findings.
