Art Competition
This year's theme:
The science of connections
Let’s be real—not all creative minds dream in numbers and formulas. That’s why we launched a Scientific Art Competition a few years ago—to bring science and art together in an epic mash-up of creativity and discovery! We would be super stoked if you could please forward this email to your art department so we can involve as many as possible learners in this competition. This competition is for grades 7 - 12, and they will be participating at the Senior event.
Connections are fundamental to how our world works. From the delicate balance of ecological networks and food webs, to the intricate neural pathways in our brains; from the social networks that link people, to the transportation systems that move goods and people across the globe — systems of connection shape life, society, and technology.
Think about how elements link, depend on one another, and form patterns. Consider how electrical circuits, supply chains, communication technologies, and even thought processes are built on connections. These networks can be physical, biological, digital, or conceptual — and they all influence how systems function and evolve.
Your challenge: Create an artwork that interprets “The Science of Connections.” Use imagery, metaphor, symbolism, or abstraction to show how connections form, interact, and impact the world around us.
